Spring Grand Ceremony at the Headquarters
Hi, we’re Yokkaichi no Konko-san!
Last Sunday, I attended the Spring Grand Ceremony (Tenchi Kane No Kami Taisai) at the Konkokyo Headquarters in Konko Town, Asakuchi City, Okayama.
It was a sunny and warm day, and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom there. Since I traveled by an overnight highway bus, I arrived at the Headquarters early in the morning.
I was blessed to receive Toritsugi mediation —a central spiritual practice in Konkokyo in which a mediator conveys prayers and guidance— from Konko-sama, the Spiritual Leader and Principal Mediator of Konkokyo. Konko-sama officiated the Grand Ceremony at 1:30 PM.
Before the coremony, we had a sermon titled “Things begin with Toritsugi” given by a Konko minister. After the ceremony, the traditional Kibimai dance was dedicated.
It was a peaceful and beautiful day, filled with a deep sense of connection and gratitude to Tenchi Kane No Kami-sama, the Divine Parent of the Universe.
